Feminist

how to style a feminist tee, the beauty beau

Oh boy. One of the words that often makes folks uncomfortable. Why? From what I can see, it’s usually only the people that have a problem with gender equality that have an issue with the word. It’s a topic I can go on for days about, but y’all know I’m not one for lengthy and drawn out posts. Basically all you need to know is that I’m not here for the gender stereotypes and any other sexist behaviors.

It’s something I’ve felt strongly about since being a child. I was that kid who wanted to know how to do everything. I actually had the parents that raised me to do everything around the house, whether it was indoors or outdoors. My parents raised me to be independent, so I wouldn’t need to depend on anyone else to do it for me. Some may call it raising an arrogant woman, but I call it raising a strong woman.

Aside from the general stereotypes that piss me off, theres also still inequality in the workplace. The whole “we can’t have too any women running this place” mentality, the mentality that would get you cussed out if it was me. 😉

Another thing I don’t like, it’s not okay for women to cry. Like, why not? It makes men strong when they cry, but we’re always told we’re too sensitive and we shouldn’t. Last time I checked, God gave us all feelings and I’m quite sure He intended for us to express them. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I wasn’t kidding about the “cussed out” part. I literally have 0 tolerance for anything said or done that is sexist, whether it involves me or not. It’s just not right. God created us all equally. Women shouldn’t be treated inferior and neither should men. There isn’t any task that we weren’t created able to do or not do.  It’s all about wanting to do it and wanting to believe that equality is fair and just, no matter the situation. Let’s not stay silent about this. Thank you H&M for creating this tee that I am proud to wear!

  2. Girl everything you wrote is seriously speaking to me! Being independent is something I am proud of, and pride myself on. Reading that someone else has the exact same mentality as me is so powerful and makes me feel even more secure in the way I live my life. Preach girl!!
