I recently got the chance to visit Connecticut for the first time, dead in the middle of winter season. Not sure why it is, but I have always enjoyed visiting colder states when it’s actually cold. I guess you can blame it on the fact that we rarely experience a true winter season in the South. While I was in the beautiful state of CT, I experienced the Foxwoods Resort Casino, the #1 Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas! 😎
Foxwoods was founded in 1992 and is the largest resort casino in North America. It has 7 casinos, AAA Four-Diamond hotels, quick service and gourmet restaurants, world-renowned spas and more, not to mention its own indoor Tanger outlet mall with over 80 stores! During our stay, we stayed in The Fox Tower; however, the good thing is that there’s a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes in between stops (hotels, casinos, etc) on the property. With this convenience, you can go back and forth between casinos and the mall without having to walk all over the property. This makes a difference especially in the cold weather, and just in general if you wish to gamble and hang out at one of the other casinos!
Our second night, we attended the Legends in Concert. This is a special event at the Fox Theater, where 3 tribute artists, David Bowie, George Michael and a young Michael Jackson. This year the event will be held until December 31st, so you still have a little over a week to check it out!
As mentioned, Foxwoods Resort Casino has its own Tanger Outlets, the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. Here there is over 300,000 square feet of indoor shopping with over 80 retail outlet stores. They range from upscale to luxury brands, but they also offer affordable fashion options. I personally think it’s awesome to have everything you need at one place, which is needed since the nearest other stores and such are miles away!
DINING
VUE 24
For brunch, we decided on an elevated meal at VUE 24, and boy was it a brilliant idea. From exceptional service to view goals, it is definitely the perfect choice to choose during your stay at Foxwoods. It sets atop the 24th floor of the Grand Pequot Tower and has panoramic views. It’s also buffet style, so you can get your fill on any of your favorites!
CEDARS RESTAURANT
For dinner, we ended up fine dining at the Cedars Steakhouse & Oyster Bar. This meal definitely hit close to home for me, with all the bold flavors and spices. I got the salmon, along with a few other sides and they were the truth! 🙌
Overall, I had a great time at the Foxwoods Resort Casino and would definitely return. It’s always a better trip when you win something too, can’t lie, haha! You can book your stay by clicking here.
