REVIEW | Michael Todd Honey and Oat Deep Pore Gel Cleanser

Hey beauties!
I am going to make it my duty to begin doing skincare reviews on here since I am always trying new products, seeing which ones work best for my skin. I’ll also take a brief moment to announce my big surprise that I have been praying about for some time now…I have a new job! I have been trying for years to get OUT of retail and sales and I have finally accomplished that. I do have a job in the accounting field and I could not be happier. I’m very excited about my future. Along with that, I’ll have more time, which means more dedication and posting for you guys 😉
Anyway, back to the purpose of this post, skincare, the foundation and secret to anti-aging. It sounds redundant, but many people skip over this and deem it unnecessary, especially men. It makes me cringe every time. Not only women can practice proper skincare habits; it works all across the board, no matter who you are. It’s better to start young, but it’s never too late. My mom had me using Clean & Clear since I was a child and I really have to thank her for that. She literally saved my life lol.
Michael Todd sent over this cleanser to test out and give my thoughts on it.

I have used it a full month and can give my experience on it. Here’s what it claims to do:
Ultra-hydrating sweet-lemony honey and oat facial cleanser in a base of refreshing aloe vera juice. Effectively removes makeup and impurities in one simple step.

Sulfate free “no tears” formula does not irritate eyes and rinses completely without residue leaving the skin clean, fresh and hydrated.

Designed for all skin types and especially beneficial for normal, dry and mature.

I first have to comment on the smell; it smells so good! It has this citrus and honey mixture for scent and it gives me that early morning awakening feel. Consequently, I absolutely love using it in the morning because the aroma gets me wide awake. Normally scented stuff irritates my skin, but this cleanser gave me no problems.
Though it claims to remove eye makeup, it does a pretty poor job on its own. I personally like to use an actual eye makeup remover first, then follow with this on top. It gives you a squeakier clean. As far as face makeup goes, it gets the job done.
UPDATE
After trying another method (applying a lot of product on just my eyes), this product removed every ounce of eye makeup, as well as face makeup. You can’t try to remove both at once or it won’t work as well. Take separate amounts for the eyes and then another for your face to get the best results.
Typically when I think of “deep pore cleanser,” I automatically connect that with “exfoliating beads.” This doesn’t have that. It can be a plus for those with drier skin, though it hasn’t made a difference with me in the past. It gives me that deep cleansing minus the feel of the “scrub.” Here’s me attempting to remove eye makeup with just this cleanser, during and after: mt1
Overall, this is a really great cleanser. I have always used eye makeup remover for my eyes anyway, so the issue of having to use extra of this cleanser for that purpose is not a deal breaker for me. The fact that it is organic and it cleanses my skin is enough for me. You may purchase this cleanser along with other Michael Todd organic skincare here.
