This is officially my first drugstore foundation purchase. I bought it on a whim as I was picking up a prescription. I have always been a fan of CoverGirl mascaras, so I figured I would give their Ready, Set Gorgeous foundation a try. Of course, I’m a concealer whore so I had to get that to test out too. That was a bad choice on my part. You’ll see why in a minute…

The unedited photo shown above shows the application of the foundation and complementing concealer after I first applied it at 11:04 AM. The foundation went on effortlessly. I love the coverage and smoothness it gives my skin. It is sheer when you first apply it; however, I built it up to medium coverage to conceal the discoloration around my mouth area, which it did like magic. You can actually see this process by viewing the video above.

The irony. It blends easily all right, too easy. It accentuated my dry skin underneath my eyes. I generally apply eye cream right before makeup, but that made no difference in this concealer as it generally does with my others. It creased the instant I applied it. It does brighten the area under my eyes, but that alone doesn’t make me a fan. We’ll discuss that ‘lasts all day’ part later on in this post.

Here’s what my makeup looked like after almost 5 hours of wear in natural light…
The foundation remained flawless on my skin, with no fading or smudging. The concealer vanished, revealing my under eye redness. No surprise there. See below about 5 hours later. I decided to workout wearing the makeup to test out the wear.

I won’t waste my time commenting on the concealer. It’s horrible. The coverage is bad, the staying power worse and it’s just not a great product. The only time I would probably use it is if I wanted to highlight my face in certain areas, such as my cheekbones, down the center of my nose and forehead.
The foundation is the real star of the show; it’s amazing. It even stayed in place after working out in the areas where I didn’t rub sweat off my face lol. Not saying it’s water-resistant, just saying maybe 😉 Check out this foundation at your local Walgreens…that’s where I got mine!
P.S. There is also a pressed powder with this collection, which can be used to control shine. I can’t comment on how it actually works because my skin isn’t oily and I left it on the shelf. If anyone has, feel free to comment below and let everyone else know!
