Milani Color Statement Lipstick Reviews and Comparisons (Corals & Pinks)

Hello!

It’s not often that I actually do reviews on here, especially detailed reviews like the one I’m doing now. I am going to try to post reviews here more, including fragrance reviews as requested 🙂 Anyhow, I recently received a shipment of the Milani Color Statement lipsticks. Here’s the pink lip porn!

Color Statement Lipliners
Milani’s Description – Make a statement without saying a word. True Instant Color. Satin color in one stroke application. This next generation lipliner is a long-wearing, easy-glide formula to line & fill-in your lips. Paraben free.
Candace’s Description – These lip liners are super creamy. They don’t scratch the lip at all. The texture kind of reminds me of the Bare Minerals Round the Clock Waterproof Eye Liners. They glide on like butter, so don’t press too hard or it can break. It’s just that smooth. Awesome texture!

Colors from top to bottom:
#5 – Haute Pink
#4 – All Natural
#2 – True Red

Colors from left to right:
#2 – True Red, #4 – All Natural, #5 – Haute Pink

True Red – This color meets the name’s expectations; it is a true red. It has the slightest hint of pink, in my opinion, but it’s not overwhelming. MAC Cherry Lip Pencil is even more red than this color and is more vibrant. MAC Kiss Me Quick Pro Longwear Lip Pencil is a little lighter. MAC Brick Lip Pencil is darker.

All Natural – This lip liner is the perfect pinky nude shade. If you have that Pepto jizz lipstick and you need more warmth, this is the shade for you. MAC Spice Lip Pencil is darker and MAC Morning Coffee Pro Longwear Lip Pencil is more mauve. MAC Nice ‘N Spicy Pro Longwear Lip Pencil is a tad bit lighter in a swatch, but honestly on the lips, it can pass as a dupe for All Natural.

Haute Pink – Either I’m going crazy or I’ve completely lost it (probably both lol). This shade begins as a super bright, blue-based pink, but lightens in vibrancy over time. Keeping this is mind, this color is pretty close to NYX Hot Pink Lip Liner. MAC In Anticipation Pro Longwear Lip Pencil is more yellow based, NYX Dolly Pink is more Nicki Minaj-ish/Pepto Bismol-y (yeah I’ve definitely lost it), and MAC Trimmed in Pink Lip Pencil is a shade darker than Haute Pink.

Color Statement Lipsticks

Milani’s Description – Make a statement without saying a word!  True Instant Color. One stroke, full coverage application. This next generation lipstick gives the ultimate in color, texture and finish.  The lightweight creamy formula contains Vitamins A, C, & E to moisturize and nourish lips. Paraben free. Available in Vinyl, Metallic, Cream, Shimmer, Pearl & Matte finish.
Candace’s Description – These lipsticks are super creamy and moisturizing, as Milani states. It helps to prime the lips before as they have a tendency to slip into the lines of the lips. I have also noticed that the texture tends to ball up if your lips are not pre-exfoliated. Before application, make sure all the dead skin is scrubbed off beforehand (you can use sugar on a wet toothbrush or moisturize with something like Carmex before bed). The lipsticks are pretty longwearing as far as the actual color goes. The pigmentation that shows up when you first apply the color goes away throughout the day, or even quicker if you eat or share a kiss lol. The actual color still stains your lips after it rubs off, which is pretty nice, in my opinion. As with all lip products, from my experience, it leaves a white ring on the inside of the lips as time passes. I just remove it with a napkin or tissue, so it isn’t a deal breaker for me.
Colors from left to right (flash):

#9 – Pink Frost: This color is entirely too light and frosty for me. It is only for the fairest of skin, in my opinion. You could ombre it with a darker lip pencil, but the frost just is a turnoff for me. MAC Colour Crafted Lipstick is a few shades lighter and not as frosty.

#11 – Fruit Punch: This color is beautiful. I wore this in a tutorial that will be posted in a couple of days. MAC Chatterbox Lipstick is a close dupe to Fruit Punch.

#12 – Flamingo Pose: I pretty much love all of the pinks, so this one is no different. MAC Crosswires Lipstick is creamier and more salmon. MAC Impassioned Lipstick is lighter and more vibrant. MAC Speak Louder Lipstick is a more creamy texture, but Flamingo Pose can pass as a dupe.
#14 – Rose HipMAC Love Forever Pro Longwear Lipcreme is similar, but more of a matte shade. MAC Trimming Talk Lipstick is similar, but more frostier. MAC Show Orchid is very close with more frost.

#15 – Hot Pink RageMAC Full Fuchsia Lipstick is darker. Bare Minerals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor in Ambition is a close dupe, but slightly more vibrant.

#16 – Flirty FuchsiaMAC Girl About Town Lipstick has more hints of magenta and is a lot creamier. MAC Most Popular Lipstick is darker. Flirty Fuchsia is most similar to MAC Full Fuchsia Lipstick and can pass as a dupe.

#33 – Rose AmourMAC Pink Nouveau Lipstick is lighter, so if that color is too light for your liking, Rose Amour may be the perfect shade for you.

Overall, these are some great lipsticks. I have been seeing some great makeup in drugstores lately and I have been really impressed. These lipsticks can be purchased at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Rite Aid or any other local drugstore. More reviews to come in the future!
