My Experience with Olay Retinol24 After 4 Weeks

As you all know, I recently got the chance to test out the new and fabulous Olay Retinol24 lineup of skincare products. As I mentioned in my Instagram stories, I would report back after 4 weeks of testing to share my thoughts with you. Well now that time has arrived and I am ready to share my results! 😊

Week 1

After only a couple of days, I noticed my skin requiring less moisturizer to stay hydrated throughout the day. I’m under there assumption that it took a little longer than 24 hours because my skin is super dry; I’m talking abnormally dry. If I went 1 night without moisturizing my face, I would wake up with my skin cracking all over the place… I’m not exaggerating! That’s why I’m confident in knowing why it may have taken extra time to fully moisturize my face. I am a rare case when it comes to skin dryness!  😂

Week 2

During the 2nd week of use, I did notice dry spots on my skin, particularly around my mouth and above my eyebrows. These are usually the driest parts of my skin anyway, so I felt like this was just my skin naturally exfoliating dead skin away, which is probably a cause of my extra dry skin in these areas to begin with. Contrary to my other moisturizers, I noticed my skin tingling in these areas while I applied the moisturizer. Some of my other previous moisturizers I used didn’t do this, but a few of them did leave dry spots. This made me wonder if continuing to use the Olay Retinol24 moisturizer could actually work, given the tingling sensation I felt on my skin. I continued usage just to find out!

Week 3

After the 3rd week, I noticed the dry spots on my skin getting smaller and smaller, with my skin tingling a lot less during moisturizer application. I was relieved! After this week, my skin also appeared a lot more even than normal.

Week 4

This week ended up being the best of all. It was the longest period I used the retinol cream. My skin was super soft and I was able to leave out of the house with only a light layer of face powder. This hasn’t happened in some time, as I had hyperpigmentation on some parts of my face. For the most part, these spots are now minimal!
