How to Remove Layers of Makeup with Skincare from CVS

how to remove makeup, the beauty beau

Whether you’re wearing a light layer of makeup, or a more dramatic look as I did, it is important to make sure all of it gets removed properly and to make sure your skin is taken care of simultaneously. I happened to score all skincare products I used from CVS and am here to also tell you about a deal they have going on right now!

In this post, I will be using 3 products: the Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water, the POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser and the St. Ives Green Tea Blackhead Clearing Scrub.

When beginning the process of makeup removal, the first step I like to do is actually remove the makeup. For that purpose, I find the Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water to be very effective. I love this stuff because it not only removes basic eye makeup, but also waterproof mascara, eyelash glue and eyeshadow. It normally only takes me a cotton pad or 2 to take everything off, fully saturated. This cleansing water is no-rinse and infused with minerals and plant extract. It’s also perfect for dry, sensitive or dehydrated skin!

After removing as many traces of eye and face makeup as I can, I follow with the POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser. This stuff is really awesome because it removes makeup and hydrates my dry skin at the same time. All it takes is a wet washcloth or cotton pad to remove everything, with it being a 50% moisturizer. No water needed and it makes your skin clean and glowing afterwards!

noxzema cleansing cream

In place of this, you could also use the Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream. It cleanses pores, removing dirt and oil. It is made with eucalyptus and linseed oils, both which soothe and moisturize. This cleansing cream is also a part of the sale! 😙

Lastly, I like to follow up with an exfoliator to make sure my skin is deep cleansed, especially after wearing a day of makeup. Here I used the St. Ives Green Tea Blackhead Clearing Scrub. It’s not only geared towards those who actually have blackheads, but it also unclogs pores and helps to calm redness, something my skin could use some relief from!

Also, whenever you spend $15 on participating products from these lines, you receive $5 in ExtraBucks. You do the math and see what a steal these are. Check them out in store, or online here ASAP before the deal expires!

Simple products are life!! They are perfect for my sensitive skin. I use the wipes and the moisturizer. I have to check out the cleansing water soon. Also, I’ve recently had a blackhead breakout and I need something new to call my skin. I’m definitely going to look into this St. Ives scrub! And the discount is right up my alley!

  2. I still have yet to try Pond’s Cold cleanser! I hear a lot of people swear by it because like you said, it removes all traces of makeup and moisturizes which other cleansers don’t usually do. And Noxzema pads! Gotta pick some of those up too 🙂 Thanks for a thorough review!
