TRAVEL: Nikki Beach Resort Koh Samui

This may very well be one of the saddest, yet amazing property stories I’ve ever written. Let me explain. I wasn’t asked to write a blog story about my experience as I usually am, but I felt so compelled to do so and share this story, as I have never experienced a feeling and connection to a property this strongly. Allow me to introduce you to the world of Nikki Beach for the very first time. I had the pleasure of staying at their location in Koh Samui, Thailand.

As the receptionist was going through her usual check-in procedures, my eyes diverted to this photo setting ever so noticeably on top of the front desk. She was strikingly beautiful and I didn’t think twice about asking who it was, as I already knew. I knew it was Nikki and the receptionist confirmed. She filled me in on a brief story about her father owning all the Nikki Beach properties and naming them after her. I didn’t want to waste much of her time continuing to inquire, so I ended up doing my own research about “why” and a bit more detail on the back story. Turns out Nikki was killed in a tragic accident in 1997 and the luxury brand of Nikki Beach was created in 1998 in her honor. Having learned this, I was saddened, but I also smiled because the founder and her father, Jack Penrod, turned it into something quite amazing! The Nikki Beach brand was created surrounding the elements of Art, Fashion, Film, Food, Music and Entertainment, and I can definitely agree that all of these were in place!

Okay, now that I’ve briefed you on the story, let’s get into the beautiful property of Nikki Beach Resort Koh Samui. I will begin by showing you just a few of the accommodation options for your stay!

ACCOMODATIONS

Garden View Villa

I’m in love with the color schemes of the rooms. I love how bright everything is on the outside of the property, but when you get inside, it’s a bit more calm and cozy. It’s really the ideal place to come back and relax after a long day in the heat. It takes the word “retreat” to a whole new level!

All the Garden View Villa on the property have walk-in rainfall showers (which you can see above off to the left) and Aromatherapy bath products. They also have double vanity sinks and massive closet space! In the actual bedrooms you can find a 42″ flat screen LCD TV, with channels in Russian, English, Spanish and French, a luxurious king bed with Nikki Beach Bedding and a MyBar (minibar). I have to tell you that it’s one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in and I’ve stayed in plenty of resorts and hotels. It made me lazier in getting up in the mornings…haha! 😆

Ocean View Penthouse

Can we say honeymoon goals? Bachelor/bachelorette? Girls night in? Family vacation? The Ocean View Penthouse at Nikki Beach Koh Samui definitely has it all. Don’t let the round bed fool you either. Those who have met me in person know I am pretty tall and I had no problem fitting into the bed without my legs hanging off. This is definitely the room and bed of my dreams!

This penthouse honestly has goals written all over it. I’m a huge fan of how spacious this living area is, as well as how well-lit it is. It’s seriously blogger goals for photography and beyond. It also allows you to see outside, with blinds for privacy if desired. I love this space!

Pool View Suite

For pool views, there are 2 options for suites: Pool Access Suite and Pool View Suite. The difference between the 2 is simply the floor the suite is on (the pool access option is on the bottom level and the pool view option is on the 2nd floor). These options have the exact same amenities I mentioned for the Garden View Villas, with the addition of the pool view and a spacious patio or balcony with a couch and chaise. These are also covered in the event you’d rather not bake in the sun while relaxing, but you’d still like to enjoy a little heat!

POOLS

In case you’re wondering if this pool ever ends, it doesn’t. 😆 It’s 75 meters long, any swimmer’s dream!

Nikki Beach Koh Samui is also known for it’s fun and vibrant pool parties. There’s always lots of music and entertainment! I happened to be there during their “What Women Want” event, which is a massive Sunday brunch with every drink and dish I can think of. There also happened to be a fashion show going on, which y’all know is right up my alley!

FOOD

For breakfast, we had the pleasure of dining at Café Nikki, in which there is a buffet setup to get your fill of local Thai inspired cuisine and your everyday breakfast like omelettes and pancakes. Everything was so delicious and the coffee was also on point!

Later in the day, you can grab a bite to eat at the Beach Club. The staff was so nice and attentive. The moment I sat down, I was brought a menu and asked if I wanted cold water. Since I’m a vegetarian, I was able to personalize the meal I wanted and it was incredible. Obviously I opted for something with avocado! The side of fries was amazing as well!

LIPA NOA BEACH

Nikki Beach Koh Samui sits atop Lipa Noa Beach, which is on the Gulf of Thailand. Be careful of the jellyfish in the water if you choose to swim though! I actually saw this warning sign after going for a swim. Hopefully you guys see this warning before you go out there all enthusiastically like I did! 😅

FITNESS CENTRE

BEAUTY SALON

In case you break a nail while partying/vacationing, there is a beauty salon on site at Nikki Beach that does nails and hair! I wanted to get my nails done, but I ran out of time. The prices are more reasonable than I expected too, which is kind of unheard of in the hospitality world.
