Pros and Cons of an On Season Wedding

I realize I haven’t said much about wedding planning recently and that’s because, well…I’m not planning haha. The wedding is still on, but to be honest, I’m trying to be as smart as possible about spending. I for one, am not trying to spend thousands of dollars on others to enjoy our wedding and as a result, we may end up going a different route than the traditional wedding. That in mind, the time of year can make a huge difference in cost when it comes to weddings.

So without further ado, I am going to share my pros and cons of having an on season wedding, as we were originally planning for September!

PROS OF A ON SEASON WEDDING

• More options to choose from
  • Since it’s a more popular season, you get more options with different things you may need in your wedding, which also means possibly more expensive. This ends up turning this pro into a major con.
• Kids are out of school
  • Often times, our wedding parties have kids involved and lots of activities which need their presence. Peak season is the best because no one has to worry about their child missing school.

CONS OF A ON SEASON WEDDING

• Poorer weather conditions
  • I don’t know about you guys, but I live in the South, where during the peak wedding months (June – September), it gets really hot and humid. Thinking of a heavy and long wedding dress makes me sweat just thinking about it.
• Fewer photographers to select from
  • When it comes to peak wedding season, you’d better believe the good photographers are going to be booked, maybe a year or 2 in advance.

All this being said, I highly doubt we will get married during “on” season. As I mentioned in the beginning, I’m trying to spend as less as possible, while still having the most beautiful and memorable wedding we possibly can.
