Skincare Routine with Arielle Age Defying Facial Serum

Hey guys!

I was recently given the opportunity to try this product from Airelle Skin; it’s their Age Defying Facial Serum. This was my 2nd time trying this type of product (I was using the Bare Minerals Active Cell Renewal Night Serum before). It’s basically meant to promote cell growth, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and reduce pore size. I don’t really have an issue with pore size or wrinkles…thank God LOL! However, I am always looking for a way to keep my skin young and radiant for as long as I possibly can.

Here’s what Airelle has to say about this product:

Powerful formula designed to help tighten, firm and smooth the skin. Hyaluronic acid combined with powerful antioxidants helps reduce appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pore size. This unique formula improves texture and encourages cell turnover. This non-greasy, non-sticky serum infuses high levels of antioxidants, vitamins and botanicals into the skin. Use twice daily.

My thoughts and experience:
I used this product for two weeks consistently, twice daily. Here are my daily results:
Day 1: My skin was super soft, not tight or dry. The serum felt lightweight and not greasy at all. By the end of the day, there was no change in my skin and no dry areas. During this time, I was not wearing sunscreen, which is highly recommended.
Day 2: I added a light layer of sunscreen this day and thereafter; I didn’t want to push my luck too far lol. I used MAC Studio Moisture Fix SPF 15 My skin felt the same as the day before.

Day 3: This morning, my skin felt slightly tighter, yet still moisturized and hydrated. There was a slight tingling sensation. This marked my first day of wearing foundation (MAC Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15).
Day 4: By this day, I found myself using less product because my skin didn’t need as much moisture. By night, my skin got tighter.
Day 5-7: No change.
Day 8: This was a nightmare; I don’t like my skin to look ashy in any way shape or form, especially on my face. The usual dry problem areas on my face (forehead, around mouth and chin) had dry patches of skin. I could actually feel my skin being dry. This day, I wore my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.
Day 9: Same results as yesterday, really dull skin. Most of the moisture was gone from my skin. This day I began to incorporate a stronger moisturizer on top of the serum. I used my Nature’s Way Coconut Oil. I followed with my usual sunscreen on top.
Day 10-14: Really hydrated and radiant skin, no dry problem areas.
I see this product more as a beneficial one long term rather than a treatment. At this point in my life, I have no issues with wrinkles or pores, so I see it as more of a preventative product to use for myself. If you are on the market for a product to benefit your skin current and long term, this is definitely something to consider investing in, especially if you’re a skin freak and don’t want to have to invest the money in expensive cosmetic and dermatology procedures later. All of this being said, this product is definitely an investment, for me in particular because none of my skincare is over $50. This product retails for $158 a pop. A little bit of this serum goes a looooong, long way, as all serums I’ve had experience with generally do. I would say this bottle would last about 6 months tops. I would recommend it more for combination to oily skin rather than dry skin, simply because of the fact it required me to use extra products. You can purchase the serum here on the Airelle website.
